MALAWI DELEGATION VISITS MINING COMMISSION PAVILION AT GEITA GOLD FAIR
Geita - A high-level delegation from Malawi today visited the Mining Commission Pavilion at the ongoing Geita Gold Fair taking place at the Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan Grounds, Bombambili in Geita.
The purpose of the visit was to explore and learn about the wide-ranging opportunities available in Tanzania’s mineral sector. The delegation was received by senior officials from the Mining Commission, who provided detailed insights into mineral exploration, mining, processing, and value addition initiatives being implemented across the country.
During the visit, the Malawian delegation praised the Mining Commission for its effective management of Tanzania’s mineral sector, noting the Commission’s success in strengthening mineral markets, enhancing value addition, and supporting small and medium-scale miners. They commended the country’s efforts in creating an enabling environment for investment and fostering sustainable growth in the sector.
Speaking on behalf of the Mining Commission, officials emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in developing mineral industries that contribute to national economies and create employment opportunities.
The Geita Gold Fair, which runs from September 18 to 28, 2025, brings together stakeholders from government, private sector, and development partners to showcase innovations, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration within the mineral sector.
