H.E. DR. SAMIA UNVEILS THE UNTOLD STORY OF KWALA INDUSTRIAL PARK (KIP)

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has unveiled the untold story behind the ambitious Kwala Industrial Park (KIP), a flagship project set to transform Tanzania into a strategic hub for trade and transportation in East and Southern Africa.

Speaking on the project’s significance, President Samia highlighted the strategic road networks that connect KIP to major economic corridors. These include the East African Coastal Corridor, linking Dar es Salaam–Tanga–Mombasa and boosting coastal trade; the Southern Corridor, connecting Dar es Salaam with southern regions such as Lindi and Mtwara up to Mozambique; as well as the Bagamoyo–Morogoro Road Link, which enhances connectivity between Kwala and central and western Tanzania.

According to the President, this robust infrastructure places Tanzania at a competitive advantage as a regional transport and logistics hub, opening up greater opportunities for investment, industrial growth, and job creation.

To support the development of KIP, the Government of Tanzania has already invested over TSh 330.2 billion in critical resources and preparations, underlining its commitment to industrialization and economic transformation.

Once completed, Kwala Industrial Park is expected to serve as a new economic engine, linking Tanzania to regional and global markets through its integration with major ports, highways, and railway networks.
